Do you see a “failed to get service status” error on ChatGPT?

Interest in AI has surged higher than ever, thanks to the likes of ChatGPT and Midjourney. A vast majority of users seek to experience services provided by AI.

However, since its release, ChatGPT has been showing server issues due to the volume of users it gets.

One common error you can get from the platform is the “failed to get service status” message. This error occurs in the chat box and prevents you from asking questions to the AI.

chatgpt failed to get service status error

To help out, we’ve decided to make a guide for fixing this error message on ChatGPT.

Let’s get started!

1. Refresh ChatGPT.

If you see the “failed to get service status” error on ChatGPT, try refreshing the website first.

This allows your browser to reload ChatGPT, ensuring that a random connection interruption did not cause the problem.

Hit F5 on your keyboard or click the Refresh button near the URL box to reload the web page.

2. Check ChatGPT Status.

As mentioned, ChatGPT has been encountering server-related problems since it was released.

If you get an error message on the platform, it’s possible that the servers are offline. There might also be a lot of people currently using ChatGPT, causing the servers to crash.

To confirm this, you can visit OpenAI’s status page to check if there are reported problems with the AI.

chatgpt failed to get service status error

Sadly, server-related issues can’t be resolved on your end. If the servers are down, the best thing to do is wait for their team to address the problem.

3. Restart Your Computer.

Restarting your computer can help identify whether an issue with your system causes the problem.

This reloads your system files, ensuring that they are initialized properly. A system restart also clears the RAM (Random Access Memory), removing corrupted data from your apps.

If you’re using Windows, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Click the Windows icon on the Taskbar.
  2. In the Start Menu, access the Power Options tab.
  3. Choose Restart and wait for your system to reboot.
Restart PC

For Mac users, follow the steps below:

  1. Access the Apple Menu by clicking the Apple logo in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Now, choose Restart from the drop-down menu.
  3. When prompted, confirm your action by clicking Restart again.
Restart Mac

Once done, go back to ChatGPT to check if the “failed to get service status” error is solved.

4. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow or unstable network could also be the reason you are seeing error messages on ChatGPT.

To rule this out, run a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its bandwidth.

Fast.com

If you are not getting the correct speeds indicated in your monthly plan, restart your modem or router to refresh your connection.

  1. Unplug your router from the outlet.
  2. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds.
  3. Plug back in the power cable and wait for your router to initialize.
Restart Router

Perform another test afterward to check if the problem is solved. If the issue persists, contact your service provider and ask them to fix your connection.

5. Turn Off VPN.

If ChatGPT is experiencing problems, using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on your device won’t help.

VPNs work by masking your IP address and redirecting your traffic to their servers.

While this is great for security, it can affect the quality of your connection. This makes it even harder for your browser to communicate with ChatGPT’s servers.

Disable any VPN you have before using ChatGPT.

6. Change DNS.

You can try changing your DNS (Domain Name Server) if you still encounter the “failed to get service status” error on ChatGPT.

DNS is an integral part of the Internet since it interprets server addresses to understandable domain names like Google.com, Facebook.com, and more.

If your service provider is having minor issues, changing your DNS should allow you to continue using the internet.

For Windows users, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Start Menu by clicking the Windows icon on the Taskbar
  2. Next, look for View Network Connections and open it.

  2. Choose Properties

  • Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
  1. Once done, click OK and close the window.

  1. Open Apple Menu in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Go to System Settings
  3. Click on Network in the sidebar, then click on Network Services
  4. Now, click on Details and scroll down until you see DNS
  5. Access the DNS tab and click the + icon on the pop-up window.

7. Update Your System.

Software-related issues can also affect your network connectivity. To be sure, check if there are available updates for your system and install them.

This should patch potential bugs or errors on your system that cause the error.

For Windows users, follow the guide below to update your system:

  1. Press Windows + I on your keyboard to open Windows Settings
  2. Go to Update & Security (Windows 10 only).
  3. Now, click on Windows Update in the side menu.
  4. Click on Check for Updates and follow the prompts.

If you’re using a Mac, here’s what you need to do:

  1. In the upper left corner of your screen, click the Apple icon to open the Apple Menu
  2. Now, click on System Settings
  3. Inside settings, navigate to General > Software Update
Software Update
  1. If a new version is detected, follow the prompts to install the update.

Note

  • Your Mac can restart several times while installing the update.
  • The update progress bar might also appear to be stuck. When this happens, don’t do anything. Software updates can take several minutes to complete.

Once done, try using ChatGPT again to check if the problem is solved.

8. Wait It Out.

If none of the solutions above worked, it’s possible that ChatGPT encountered a problem, and OpenAI isn’t aware of it yet.

Try using the AI again after 2-3 hours and see if you’ll encounter the same error.

Contact OpenAI’s team if the problem continues for more than 24 hours to see if the issue is on their end.

chatgpt failed to get service status error

You should see a chat box on the right side of their page where you can speak with a representative.

That sums up our guide for fixing ChatGPT if you encounter the “failed to get service status” error.

Experiencing overheating issue on Windows 11?

Overheating is a serious concern as it can lead to your device’s hardware damage in the long run.

Unfortunately, many Windows 11 users are experiencing this issue after upgrading to the latest operating system.

There are many factors to consider when your computer overheats, such as, the cooling system may be faulty, the system is infested with malware, and more.

Whichever the case, we’re here to help.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix the overheating issue on Windows 11.

Let’s begin!

1. Check Your Cooling System.

When you experience overheating problems on your computer, the first thing to check is the cooling system.

Keep seeing a network error 2000 on Twitch?

Twitch is one of the largest live streaming services in the world. Despite its status, this doesn’t mean that it’s flawless.

One of the most common errors on Twitch is the network error 2000.

network error 2000 on Twitch

This error code occurs mainly on web browsers. It prevents you from watching streams, which can be frustrating when you need to watch a live event.

Today, we’ll show you how to solve this error code on Twitch.

Let’s get started!

1. Refresh Twitch.

Try refreshing Twitch first if you encounter network errors. This should reload the web page and refresh the connection with Twitch’s servers.

Press F5 on your keyboard or click the Refresh button near the URL box.

Watch another stream afterward to check if the problem is solved.

2. Check Twitch Servers.

Since Twitch is an online service, the network error 2000 could indicate an issue with the servers.

To confirm this, visit Twitch’s status page to check if there are reported outages.

network error 2000 on Twitch

If the servers are offline, there’s nothing you can do but wait. On the other hand, you can head to the next solution if there are no problems with the servers.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

Slow or unstable internet connection could also be the reason you encounter the network error 2000 on Twitch.

Run a test on your network using Fast.com to measure your connection’s upload and download bandwidth.

Fast.com

If you are not getting the speed indicated on your monthly plan, restart your router. This should refresh the link between your modem and your ISP’s servers.

  1. Disconnect your router’s power cable from the outlet.
  2. Wait for at least five seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable to the outlet.
Restart Router

Wait for your device to initialize and run another test. If the issue persists, contact your provider and ask them to fix their service.

4. Disable Ad Blockers.

We suggest disabling any ad blocker on your browser before using Twitch. Confirmed by many users, the network error 2000 usually occurs when you are running ad blockers.

Since the platform earns revenue from advertisements, it has the right to restrict users who bypass ads.

Note

Some VPNs have built-in ad blockers which can also cause problems on Twitch.

5. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies.

Caches and cookies are used by your browser to load sites faster and improve overall performance.

If these caches get corrupted, affected websites may not function as they should. Try clearing your browsing data if you keep getting the network error 2000 on Twitch.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch your web browser and go to Settings
  2. Now, look for Privacy and Security
  3. Click on Clear Browsing Data
network error 2000 on Twitch
  1. Change the Time Range to All Time and include caches and cookies in the process.
  2. Finally, click on Clear Data to start.

Go back to Twitch afterward to check if the problem is solved.

6. Disable Browser Extensions.

Besides ad blockers, some browser extensions could also interfere with Twitch. If you don’t need browser extensions, disable them before streaming on Twitch.

See the steps below to disable browser extensions:

  1. Open your web browser and go to Settings
  2. Next, click on the Extensions tab.
  3. Finally, disable all your extensions and restart your browser.

Once done, try watching another video on Twitch to check if the problem is solved.

7. Try Another Browser.

There might be an issue with your web browser that causes Twitch to run into errors. To confirm this, use other browsers to access the streaming service on your computer.

We suggest using popular browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge, which are optimized for most websites.

8. Update Network Drivers.

Corrupted network drivers can also cause connection issues on your computer. If you still encounter the error code 2000 on Twitch, try updating your network drivers.

Here’s how you can update your network drivers:

  1. Access the Start Menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
  2. Now, look for Device Manager and click Open
Device Manager
  1. Inside Device Manager, expand the Network Adapters tab.
  2. Right-click on your network controller and select Update Driver
Update Driver
  1. Follow the prompts to continue.
  2. Restart your computer after updating your drivers to apply the changes.

Go back to Twitch afterward to check if the problem is solved.

9. Try Watching Other Streams.

The issue could be with the stream you’re watching and not your computer. To confirm this, watch other streams on Twitch and see if you’ll still encounter the error code 2000.

Certain streams on Twitch could be affected by server outage or many users are watching the same stream at the same time.

10. Update Your System.

If none of the solutions above worked, we suggest updating your operating system.

There could be a problem with the version of Windows you’re using that is related to your network connection.

Check out the steps below to update your system:

  1. Press Windows + I keys on your keyboard to open Windows Settings
  2. Click on Update & Security (Windows 10).
  3. Now, go to Windows Update from the side menu.
  4. Click on Check for Updates.
network error 2000 on Twitch
  1. If an update is available, click on Download and Install
  2. Wait for the update to complete and restart your computer.

Fire up your browser and see if you can now watch Twitch streams without issues.

That ends our guide for fixing the network error 2000 on Twitch. If you have questions, please let us know in the comment section, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

If this guide helped you, please share it.

Can’t play games on your Windows computer due to an error code 0xcf1103f on GeForce Now?

GeForce Now is a cloud gaming service offered by NVIDIA. It lets you play the latest games without needing a high-end gaming rig.

While GeForce Now offers tons of benefits, it also comes with its downsides.

One of the most common problems you can encounter on GeForce Now is the error code 0xc0f1103f.

error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now

In this guide, we’ll show you how to resolve this issue on your computer.

Let’s get started!

1. Restart Your Computer.

If you can’t stream games on GeForce Now, we suggest restarting your computer.

This should reload your resources, allowing your system to resolve temporary issues that may have occurred.

Restarting your computer should also clear corrupted data from the memory.

Here’s how you can restart your PC:

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
  2. Next, access the Power Options tab.
  3. Choose Restart from the pop-up menu.
  4. Wait for your system to boot.
Restart PC

Relaunch GeForce Now and check if the problem is solved.

2. Check GeForce Now Servers.

Being a cloud-based service, GeForce Now may run into errors if the servers for your region are unavailable.

To confirm this, check NVIDIA’s status page for any downtimes or scheduled maintenance.

error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now

If the servers are down, all you need to do is wait. Server-related problems can’t be resolved on your end, and NVIDIA’s team is probably doing their best to restore the service.

On the other hand, you can proceed to the next solution if there’s nothing wrong with the servers.

3. Check Your Network.

GeForce Now requires at least 15 Mbps internet speed to stream games at 720p resolution. If your network isn’t reaching this speed, you can run into various errors while playing.

Run a test on your network using Fast.com to confirm if it’s the culprit.

Fast.com

If your network speed is below 15 Mbps, restart your modem or router to refresh the connection with your ISP.

  1. Unplug your router from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds.
  3. Reconnect your router.
Restart Router

Once done, perform another test to check if you are getting the correct speeds indicated in your monthly subscription.

If not, report the problem to your service provider and let them handle the situation.

Note

Consider upgrading your plan if it’s only 15 Mbps or less.

4. Run GeForce Now As Admin.

If you still encounter the error code 0xc0f1103f on GeForce Now, try running the app as an administrator.

This should grant GeForce Now access to your system to use all the resources it needs.

Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Go to your desktop and find GeForce Now
  2. Right-click on it and choose Properties
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Inside Properties, go to the Compatibility tab.
  2. Find the ‘Run this Program as an Administrator’ option and enable it.
  3. Click OK to apply the changes.
Run GeForce Now as Admin

Relaunch GeForce Now and see if you’ll still encounter the error code.

5. Use Onboard Graphics.

This is a popular fix for issues with GeForce Now. If your processor has onboard graphics, use it for GeForce Now.

Since you are streaming games from NVIDIA’s servers, you don’t need a powerful graphics card to run the software.

Follow the guide below to use your onboard graphics for GeForce Now:

  1. Open the Start Menu on your computer.
  2. Look for Graphics Settings and open it.
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Next, click on Browse
  2. Go to the Desktop tab in the side menu and select GeForce Now
  3. Click on Add
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Now, click on GeForce Now and click on Options
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Select the Power Saving option and click Save
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now

Try using GeForce Now again to check if the problem is solved.

6. Update Network Drivers.

We recommend updating your network drivers if you still encounter the 0xc0f1103f error code.

This should ensure no problems with your network connection, which is the most important component when streaming games.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to the Start Menu and look for Device Manager
Device Manager
  1. Open it and expand the Network Adapters tab.
  2. Right-click on your network controller.
  3. Select Update Driver and follow the prompts.
Update Driver
  1. Restart your system to apply the changes.

Go back to GeForce Now to see if the error message would still occur.

7. Turn Off VPNs.

Virtual private networks, or VPNs, are services that protect your network and online data.

They work by redirecting your traffic to their servers to hide sensitive data. However, this process can cause instability in your network.

When streaming games on GeForce Now, we highly suggest turning off any VPN on your computer or router.

8. Reinstall GeForce Now.

At this point, we suggest reinstalling GeForce Now if you still encounter the error code 0xc0f1103f.

This will ensure that GeForce Now doesn’t have missing or corrupted resources.

Follow the steps below to delete GeForce Now:

  1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start Menu
  2. Now, look for Control Panel and open it.
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Under Programs, click on Uninstall a Program
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. Find GeForce Now from the list.
  2. Right-click on it and choose Uninstall
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now

Go to NVIDIA’s download page afterward and download the latest version of GeForce Now for your computer.

Install the software and observe if you still run into the 0xc0f1103f error code.

9. Update Windows.

If none of the solutions above worked, try updating Windows.

The version of Windows you’re using might have an underlying issue that causes problems with your network.

Updating your computer will also rule out compatibility issues with GeForce Now.

Follow the guide below to update Windows:

  1. Press Windows + I keys on your keyboard to open Windows Settings
  2. After that, go to Privacy & Security (Windows 10).
  3. Now, click on Windows Update on the side menu.
  4. Click on Check for Updates
error code 0xC0F1103F on GeForce Now
  1. If an update is available, click on Download and Install
  2. Follow the prompts to install the update and restart your computer.

Once done, go back to GeForce Now to check if the problem is solved.

That ends our guide for fixing the error code 0xc0f1103f on GeForce Now. If you have questions, please drop a comment below, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Can’t figure out why your Windows 11 computer won’t wake up from sleep when moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard?

Windows 11 introduced several changes and overhauled the entire experience of our favorite operating system. However, it does come with its own issues.

As a new software, occasional errors, and problems are expected to come up.

Recently, users have been complaining that their computers won’t wake up from sleep. This gives them no choice but to force restart their computers and potentially lose unsaved files and documents.

    Sleep Computer

Today, we’ll show you how to resolve this problem on your Windows 11 computer.

    Let’s jump right in!

    1. Reconnect Your Devices.

The most common way to solve this issue is to reconnect your peripherals. If force restarting is not an option since you have unsaved progress, disconnecting the mouse or keyboard for a few seconds might work.

    1. Unplug the USB cable for your mouse or keyboard.
    2. Wait for at least 30 seconds.
    3. Reconnect your mouse or keyboard.

Try pressing any keys or moving the mouse to see if your computer will wake up.

    2. Check Your Configurations.

There’s an option on Windows 11 that allows you to decide whether your keyboard or mouse can wake up your computer.

If the feature is disabled, it explains why your computer won’t wake up when moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard.

Follow the steps below to check your settings:

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start Menu
    2. Look for the Device Manager and open it.
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Expand the Keyboards tab and right-click on your device.
    2. Now, select Properties
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Go to the Power Management tab.
    2. Ensure that ‘Allow this Device to Wake the Computer’ is enabled.
    3. Click OK to save the changes.
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Do the same thing for the mouse.
    2. Restart your system.

Put your computer to sleep and see if you can wake it up using the mouse or keyboard.

    3. Update Your Drivers.

Device drivers allow your system to control the hardware installed on your computer.

If your mouse and keyboard drivers are corrupted, you can encounter issues with the wake function.

To rule this out, follow the guide below to update your drivers:

    1. Open the Start Menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
    2. After that, look for Device Manager and open it.
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Inside, expand the Keyboards tab.
    2. Right-click on your device and choose Update Driver
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Repeat the same steps for your mouse.
    2. Once done, reboot your system.

Try using your mouse and keyboard to wake up your computer afterward.

    4. Don’t Turn Off USB Ports.

Your computer can stop supplying power to the USB ports to save power. When this happens, you won’t be able to use them to wake your computer from sleep.

To avoid this, don’t allow your system to cut off power to the USB ports.

Here’s what you need to do:

    1. Press Windows + X on your keyboard to open the Quick Menu
    2. Next, click on Device Manager
    Open Device Manager
    1. Expand the Universal Serial Bus tab.
    2. Right-click on an entry and go to Properties
    USB Properties
    1. Go to Power Management
    2. Turn off the option “Allow the computer to Turn off this device to save power”.
    3. Click OK to save the changes.
    Power Management
    1. Repeat the process for the other USB entries on the list.

Put your computer to sleep and check if the problem is solved.

    5. Change Power Plan.

The “power saver” power plan lets your system turn off the USB ports while sleeping. This will prevent your computer from recognizing your mouse and keyboard, explaining why you can’t wake it up.

To prevent this, change your power plan to balanced or high performance.

Follow the steps below to guide you through the process:

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start Menu
    2. Look for Power Plan and click on Choose a Power Plan.
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Select High Performance or Balanced
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep

Once done, check if you can wake your Windows 11 computer using your mouse and keyboard.

    6. Update Windows.

If your Windows 11 computer still doesn’t wake up from sleep, you can try updating your operating system.

This should patch possible bugs or errors that prevent your computer from waking up from sleep.

Here’s what you need to do:

    1. Press Windows + I on your keyboard to open Windows Settings
    2. Now, click on Windows Update from the side menu.
    3. Click on Check for Updates.
    4. Follow the prompts to install the update.
windows 11 won't wake up from sleep
    1. Restart your system to apply the update.

Try putting your computer to sleep to check if the problem is solved.

That ends our guide on what to do if your Windows 11 computer won’t wake up from sleep.

    ]]>
With Microsoft now completely stopping support for Windows 7 once and for all today (14th January 2020 as of the time of writing), it’s vital to understand that continuing on a virtual machine that runs Windows 7 can expose the security of your system just as much as using a machine that runs Windows 7.

The end of support for Windows 7 brings instability to the Office apps as stated by Microsoft in this FAQ thread, and also further prolonging the transition to Windows 10 will only make this harder to rectify since there are no more security updates. So to get the smoothest user experience as possible when trying to set up a Windows virtual machine with VMware, it’s best to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10.

This guide will go over how you can upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMware step-by-step.

    What you’ll need

Without further ado, let’s dive right in. 🙌

How to Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMware: 9 Steps

    1. Firstly, go ahead open up VMware and make sure that you Shut down any running virtual machine. Take note that you do NOT Suspend the virtual machine.

    VMware Workstation on Windows/Linux Systems

Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMWare

    1. Now depending on which VMware you have — VMware Fusion or VMware Workstation the following are the steps to change the settings of the OS type for the virtual machine from Windows 7 to Windows 10. This only involves changing the virtual machine properties so that we can then proceed to upgrade to Windows 10 later from Steps 3 to 6 (below).
    • If you’re on VMware Workstation, then click on your VM menu > Settings > Options > change the Guest operating system version from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or Windows x64. Don’t know which to decide between Windows 10 or Windows 10 x64? Read more here.
    • If you’re on VMware Fusion, then click on your Virtual Machine menu > Settings > General > change the OS Type from Windows 7 to Windows 10 or Windows x64. Again, don’t know which to decide between Windows 10 or Windows 10 x64? Read more here.

Help! I cannot find Windows 10 from the list of operating systems to choose from?

If you cannot find Windows 10 from the available list of operating systems to upgrade to, then you will need to make sure that you’re running the latest versions of VMware Workstation or VMware Fusion, respectively. Make sure to upgrade your VMware first, then come back to Step 2 above and try again.

FAQ: What is the difference between Windows 10 and Windows 10 x64 versions in VMware?

Windows 10 is the 32-bit version, whereas Windows 10 x64 is as its name suggests the 64-bit version. Choosing the 32-bit version will work most architectures as it is the standard de-facto for most users. Windows 10 x64 is more performant and can provide better performances at higher RAM. This is just a simplistic look into the differences between the two, but we do suggest going through this excellent rundown done by GroovyPost.

    1. Once you’ve done the above, go ahead and power on your virtual machine.

Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMWare

    1. What you will want to do is visit the official Microsoft Windows 10 Downloads page and then hit the Download tool now button to begin downloading Windows 10 installation media. This will proceed to download the Media Creation Tool, which we will need to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10.

Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMWare

    1. Now, once the Media Creation Tool is downloaded, go ahead and double-click on the MediaCreationTool.exe that is downloaded to launch the Windows 10 setup wizard. You must choose the appropriate version and edition of Windows 10 (32 or 64-bit) based on what you’ve selected in Step 2 (above).

    1. Accept the licensing terms and select the Upgrade this PC now option.

    Windows Install

    1. You will also need a Windows 10 Product key during the upgrade process, which we will leave up to you. We have written a guide on every possible (legal) ways to get Windows 10 for free, although it is a little outdated it may help provide some ideas. 🙂
    2. Complete the Windows 10 installation by hitting Install.

    Windows Install

    1. Lastly, you may go ahead and install the VMware Tools, which you may need on your newly upgraded Windows 10 virtual machine.

    That’s pretty much it! 👍

Alternatively – Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMware using .iso Image

You have the alternative option to upgrade your Windows 7 virtual machine to Windows 10 using a .iso image. Make sure that you also have the Windows 10 product key with you too!

    Here’s how you can upgrade:

    1. First and foremost, you will want to mount the Windows 10 .iso image file in your VMware. Now the steps to mount is different for both VMware Workstation and VMware Fusion respectively:
    • If you’re on VMware Workstation, then select VM > Settings > CD/DVD drive > select Use. iso image and choose your Windows 10 .iso file. If the Autoplay process doesn’t begin automatically, then double-click on CD-ROM from This PC shortcut on the left-hand side of your File Explorer.
    • If you’re on VMware Fusion, then select Virtual Machine > Settings > CD/DVD drive > Choose Disc (or Disc Image) > select your Windows 10 .iso file. Take note that your .iso file name should look similar to “Win10_English_x64.iso” just in case you do not go ahead and mount the wrong file.
    1. Go ahead and proceed with the Windows 10 installation process and lastly hit Install to complete.
    2. Lastly, you may go ahead and install the VMware Tools, which you may need on your newly upgraded Windows 10 virtual machine.

    And you’re done! 👏

We hope that this guide has helped show and explain how to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 in VMware duly. If you have questions, please feel free to leave a comment below, and we will love to help you out. ❤

If this guide helped you, please share it. 🙂

Want to hide the taskbar on Windows 11?

Customizability is what most users love about Windows. This allows you to layout everything you need the way you want it, which will certainly boost your productivity.

If you have been customizing your operating system for a long time, you may have realized by now that Windows 11 has a smaller screen real estate due to the redesigned taskbar.

Fortunately, you can take some back by hiding the taskbar. This should allow applications to run in full screen and give you space below the screen for third-party widgets.

Learn multiple methods on how to hide the taskbar on Windows 11 through this guide.

    1. Windows Auto Hide Feature.

The auto-hide option for the taskbar is still available on Windows 11. You can access the option from the Settings or tweak it using Command Prompt.

To enable auto-hide from the Settings app, follow the steps below:

    1. Right-click anywhere on your Taskbar
    2. Click on Taskbar Settings
    Taskbar Settings
    1. Now, find Taskbar Behaviors and expand it.
    Taskbar Behaviors
    1. Look for Automatically Hide the Taskbar and mark it checked.

You can also enable the feature using Command Prompt by doing the following:

    1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start Menu
    2. Look for Command Prompt and click Run as Administrator
    Run Command Prompt
    1. Now, copy the code below, paste it in the command line, and hit Enter
    Command Prompt
    powershell -command "&{$p='HKCU:SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3';$v=(Get-ItemProperty -Path $p).Settings;$v[8]=3;&Set-ItemProperty -Path $p -Name Settings -Value $v;&Stop-Process -f -ProcessName explorer}"

Regardless of what option you choose, the auto-hide taskbar feature should now be enabled on your computer.

To access the Taskbar, hover your cursor at the bottom portion of your screen.

    2. SmartTaskbar.

SmartTaskbar is an open-source tool that can automatically hide the taskbar when you open full-screen applications.

Although the auto-hide option works fine, it can be annoying to repeatedly invoke the Taskbar when your cursor gets too close from the bottom of the screen.

Here’s how you can use the SmartTaskbar:

    1. Click on the Windows icon on the Taskbar to open Start Menu
    2. Find Microsoft Store and click Open
    Microsoft Store
    1. Now, search for SmartTaskbar
    2. Click the Get button to download the app.
    SmartTaskbar Download
    1. After installing SmartTaskbar, you’ll find its icon in the lower right corner of the Taskbar
    2. Right-click on it and configure its settings based on your preference.
    hide taskbar on Windows 11
    • Animations in the Taskbar – This option allows you to control the animation used when showing and hiding your taskbar.
    • Auto-Mode – This option is enabled by default. It automatically hides your taskbar when you have a full-screen app on the screen. You can disable it if you wish to manually enable SmartTaskbar.
    • Show the Taskbar After Exit – This option allows you to control whether the taskbar stays hidden after closing a full-screen app.

    Note

Double-clicking on the SmartTaskbar icon in your taskbar will toggle Auto-Mode On/Off.

    3. Hide Taskbar Permanently.

If you want to hide your taskbar permanently, you’ll have a few third-party tools at your disposal.

    Auto Hotkey

This is a keyboard mapper and macro creator that can use custom scripts. You can use this tool to hide the taskbar on Windows 11.

Here’s what you need to do:

    1. First, download AutoHotkey on your computer.
    2. Go to your Downloads folder and run the installer. Follow the prompts to install AutoHotkey
    3. Now, download the script file below:
    1. Extract the file and run it on our computer.
    hide taskbar on Windows 11
    1. This will launch AutoHotkey

Now, you can press F12 to hide and unhide the taskbar on your computer.

    Taskbar Hide for Windows

Taskbar Hide is a proven third-party application that can hide your taskbar permanently. It also surprisingly works well on Windows 11.

Here’s how you can use it:

    1. First, download Taskbar Hide on your computer.
    Download Taskbar Hide for Windows
    1. Run the installer and follow the prompts to continue.
    2. After installing the tool, run it on your computer.
    3. By default, CTRL + T is used to hide the taskbar. You can also customize the hotkey based on your preference.
    4. Click on Menu in the upper left corner of the window.
    hide taskbar on Windows 11
    1. Open the Hotkey tab.
    2. Look for the Hide Taskbar option and click the text box beside it.
    3. Nominate a new key combination to hide or unhide the taskbar.
    hide taskbar on Windows 11
    1. Click OK afterward to apply the changes.

Now, you can use your new hotkey to hide or show the taskbar on Windows 11.

    Using Registry Editor

If you are not comfortable installing third-party applications on your computer, you can use the Registry Editor to disable or hide the taskbar on Windows 11.

However, you won’t have the option to instantly unhide the taskbar if you go for this option.

Here’s how you can hide the taskbar using Registry Editor:

    1. Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open Run Command
    2. Now, type regedit and click OK to open the Registry Editor.
