Getting annoyed with WhatsApp since it keeps crashing on your iPhone?

WhatsApp is a messaging app that should be perfectly compatible with the latest iPhones. With this, we expect the messaging app to work without problems.

Unfortunately, iPhone users have been experiencing random crashes while using WhatsApp

If you rely heavily on WhatsApp for communication, this issue should be addressed immediately.

Today, we’ll walk you through several solutions for fixing WhatsApp if it keeps crashing on your iPhone.

Let’s jump right in!

1. Check WhatsApp Status.

Random app crashes can indicate a problem with WhatsApp’s servers. Before tweaking your settings, see if there are ongoing issues with the service.

You can use third-party sites like Downdetector to check for reported outages with WhatsApp.

Downdetector

Unfortunately, server issues can’t be resolved on your end. If the servers are down, the best thing to do is wait for the problem to get fixed.

If there are no issues with the servers, head to the next solution.

2. Restart Your iPhone.

Restarting your iPhone appears to be a simple process, but it’s quite effective in solving software issues.

A restart should reload system resources, resolving temporary bugs in the process. It also clears corrupted and unused data from the system memory.

If you are using an iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, 14, or later, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Hold down the Volume Down button and Side button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt appears.
  2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Side button afterward to turn on your device.
Restart iPhone

For older models, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the Power button on your device.
  2. Now, hold the button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt shows up.
  3. Drag the slider to the right and wait 30 seconds before turning on your device.

Once done, go back to WhatsApp to check if the problem is solved.

3. Close Unnecessary Applications.

There might be conflicting applications on your iPhone that causes WhatsApp to crash randomly.

To rule this out, close unused applications running in the background.

  1. Swipe upwards from the bottom of your display until you see the application switcher.
  2. Now, identify the applications you’re not using.
  3. Drag or flick an app upwards to remove it from the list.
  4. Repeat the process until you’ve closed all applications except WhatsApp.
whatsapp crashing on iphone

Try using the messaging app and observe if you’ll still encounter random crashes.

4. Check Your Connection.

Slow or unstable internet can also cause WhatsApp to crash. Since you are using an online service, you’ll need a stable internet to avoid issues.

Run a test using Fast.com to measure your connection’s bandwidth.

Fast.com

If the result indicates a problem with your internet, you have to power cycle your modem.

  1. Go to your router and remove its power cable from the outlet.
  2. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable and wait for your router to initialize.
Restart Router

Re-run the test on your network to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your provider to report the issue.

For mobile data users, check if your phone has enough signal. A 5G or 4G icon should appear beside the signal indicator to be able to use online apps without issues.

Consider moving to another location to get better reception from your network.

5. Update WhatsApp.

Faulty versions of WhatsApp could also be why it keeps crashing on your iPhone.

To solve this, check if a new version of the app is available and install it to patch bugs and errors.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Next, tap on your Profile icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Scroll down and find WhatsApp from the list.
  4. If an update is available, tap the Update button beside WhatsApp.
Update Apps

Use WhatsApp and see if it will crash.

6. Check WhatsApp Permissions.

WhatsApp might not have proper permissions on your system, preventing it from accessing crucial resources.

Head to your phone’s settings and ensure that WhatsApp has access to everything it needs.

See the steps below to guide you through the process:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on WhatsApp
  3. Under ‘Allow WhatsApp to Access’, ensure that everything is enabled.

Go back to the app afterward to check if the problem is solved.

7. Update Your iPhone

Updating your software is also a good measure if applications keep crashing on your device.

This ensures no compatibility issues between your apps and your system. Updating your iPhone should also patch any errors that cause WhatsApp to crash.

Here’s how you can update your iPhone:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Navigate to General > Software Update
  3. If there’s a new iOS version available, tap Download and Install
whatsapp crashing on iphone
  1. Once the new software is ready, follow the prompts to install the update.

Note

  • Your device can restart several times while installing the update.
  • Make sure that your iPhone has at least 50% battery before installing updates. It’s best to keep your device plugged into the wall charger to avoid interruptions.
  • Allow at least 15 minutes for the update to install, especially if it’s a major update (iOS 14 to iOS 15).

Once done, go back to WhatsApp to check if it will still crash.

8. Reinstall WhatsApp.

If none of the solutions above worked, we suggest reinstalling WhatsApp. This way, we can ensure that there are no missing or corrupted resources on your device.

Note

Make sure that you know the credentials for your WhatsApp account before deleting it.

Follow the guide below to delete WhatsApp:

  1. Head to your home screen and locate WhatsApp
  2. Press and hold its app icon until the selection menu shows up.
  3. Tap on Remove App and follow the prompts.

Once done, open the App Store on your iPhone and install WhatsApp.

That sums up our guide for fixing WhatsApp if it keeps crashing on your iPhone. If you have questions, please leave a comment below, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

If this guide helped you, please share it.

Can’t figure out why WhatsApp is not downloading images on your Mac?

The desktop version of WhatsApp is a godsend for users who don’t want to get distracted by their phones.

If you are reading this, you’re probably trying to save an image from your loved one or a funny meme from your group chat.

whatsapp not downloading images on mac

Now, you’re wondering what went wrong since WhatsApp is not downloading the images on your Mac.

Today, we will show you how to fix WhatsApp if it’s not downloading images on your Mac.

Let’s get started!

1. Check WhatsApp Servers.

Server-related issues are the most common reason why you can’t download files on WhatsApp.

Given that WhatsApp is an online service, expect problems to occur if the servers are down.

To confirm this, you can use tools like Downdetector to see if there are reported outages with the app.

whatsapp not downloading images on mac

If the servers are down, it’s best that you just wait it out. Sadly, server-related issues can only be resolved by WhatsApp’s team.

2. Restart Your Mac.

If something isn’t working on your Mac, the first thing you should do is restart it.

This should reload your resources, eliminating temporary errors that occurred during runtime.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Now, choose the Restart option.
  3. When the dialog box appears, click Restart to confirm.
Restart Mac

Once done, go back to WhatsApp and try downloading an image.

3. Check Your Storage.

Whenever you are downloading on your Mac, you’ll need enough space to store the file.

If WhatsApp is not downloading images, it might indicate that your Mac is running out of storage.

Here’s how you can check:

  1. On your Mac, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Now, go to System Settings
  3. Access the General tab in the sidebar and click on Storage on the right.
  4. Click on All Volumes to see your Mac’s storage information.
  5. Hover the cursor over a color to see the amount of space each category uses. The blank space indicates your remaining storage.
whatsapp not downloading images on mac

If your Mac is low on storage, the quickest workaround is to declutter. Look for old and unused files on your Mac that you can delete.

Additionally, you should check if you have applications you no longer use and uninstall them.

4. Check Network Connection.

Unstable internet could also be the reason you can’t download images on WhatsApp.

To verify this, perform a speed test on your network using Fast.com. This will measure if you are getting the speed indicated on your subscription.

Fast.com

If the result confirms that your network is the culprit, power cycle your modem or router.

  1. Go to your router and find its power cable.
  2. Disconnect the power cable from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds.
  3. Plug back in the power cable to restart your router.
Restart Router

Wait for your router to initialize and run another test. If you still have connection issues, report the problem to your ISP and ask them to fix the issue.

5. Enable Media Auto-Download.

WhatsApp has an option that automatically downloads media you receive from your contacts.

You can take advantage of this feature if you experience issues downloading images manually.

See the steps below to enable the feature:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your Mac
  2. Now, click on the arrow icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Go to Settings and click on Media AutoDownload
Auto Download
  1. On the next page, you’ll see an option to select the media types you want to be automatically downloaded. Click the checkbox beside Photos.
Media Auto Download

Restart WhatsApp to apply the changes. Ask one of your friends to send you an image and see if it will get downloaded automatically.

6. Refresh Your Account Data.

Corrupted data can prevent your Mac from establishing a connection with the servers.

As a result, you’re unable to download images from conversations and receive new messages.

To fix this, follow the guide below to refresh your account data:

  1. Start by opening WhatsApp on your Mac
  2. Now, click on the arrow icon in the upper right corner of the window.
  3. Click on Log Out to stop your current session.

Relaunch the app afterward and scan the QR code using your phone to log in.

7. Check WhatsApp Permissions.

There’s a chance that file permissions for WhatsApp are not set properly on your Mac.

As a result, the app can’t read or write on your storage drive, explaining why it can’t download images and other files.

Follow the steps below to tweak your permissions:

  1. Access Spotlight Search by pressing Command + Space on your keyboard.
  2. Look for System Settings and open it.
  3. Now, navigate to Privacy and Security > Files and Folders.

  1. Click on WhatsApp and enable the toggle switch beside the Downloads Folder option.

Go back to WhatsApp and see if you can download images.

8. Update WhatsApp.

The version of WhatsApp you’re using might have an issue related to file downloads.

Check if there are available updates for WhatsApp and install them to patch bugs and issues.

Here’s how you can update apps on Mac:

  1. Press the Command + Space keys to launch Spotlight Search
  2. Look for the App Store and open it.
  3. In the side menu, click on the Updates tab.
  4. Find WhatsApp and click the Update button beside it.

Relaunch the app to check if the problem is solved.

9. Contact WhatsApp.

If none of the solutions above worked, report the issue to WhatsApp.

  1. Using any browser, visit WhatsApp’s contact page

  1. In the Phone Number section, choose your country code and provide your mobile number.
  2. Provide your email address afterward and confirm it.
  3. Under the ‘How do you use WhatsApp’ section, choose Web and Desktop
  4. Now, explain the problem you’re experiencing in the message field.
  5. Click on Next Step and follow the instructions to continue.

While waiting for a response, you can also visit their Help Center. See if you can find other solutions not mentioned above.

That ends our guide on how to fix WhatsApp if it’s not downloading images on your Mac. If you have other concerns, please let us know in the comment section and we’ll do our best to help you out.

Wondering why the WhatsApp picture-in-picture feature is not working on your iPhone?

WhatsApp picture-in-picture mode allows users to view other apps while watching videos. PiP also works during video calls, allowing you to check emails or documents at the same time.

Unfortunately, the picture-in-picture feature on WhatsApp is not flawless.

whatsapp picture-in-picture not working on iphone

Some iPhone users are struggling to use the feature on their devices. When they switch to a different app, the call continues but they can no longer see the person they are speaking to.

Videos also stop playing once they switch to another application.

If you are experiencing this problem, we got you covered.

In this guide, we are going to show you what to do if WhatsApp picture-in-picture is not working on your iPhone.

Let’s begin!

1. Restart Your iPhone.

Try restarting your iPhone first if picture-in-picture is not working for WhatsApp. This will reload WhatsApp resources and resolve temporary issues on your phone.

For iPhone X, 11, 12, or later:

  1. Hold down the Volume Down button and Side button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt appears.
  2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Side button afterward to turn on your device.
Restart iPhone

For iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE:

  1. Locate the Power button on your device.
  2. Now, hold the button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt shows up.
  3. Drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds before turning on your device.

Go back to WhatsApp to see if the feature works.

2. Update WhatsApp.

To be sure, follow the steps below to install the latest version of WhatsApp:

  1. On your iPhone, go to the home screen and launch the App Store
  2. Tap on your Profile in the upper right corner afterward.
  3. From there, scroll down and look for WhatsApp
  4. If there’s an available update, tap the Update button beside WhatsApp.

3. Allow Picture in Picture on Your iPhone.

Picture-in-picture might be disabled on your iPhone. This explains why it’s not working on WhatsApp.

  2. Now, tap on General
  3. Access the Picture in Picture tab and ensure the feature is enabled.

Restart your device afterward and check if PiP is working on WhatsApp.

4. Update Your iPhone.

There might be an issue with your iPhone’s software that causes WhatsApp’s PiP feature not to work.

To rule this out, check if there are newer versions of iOS available and install them on your device.

Note

Make sure your iPhone’s battery has a charge of at least 50% before proceeding with the update.

Here’s how to manually update your iPhone:

  1. First, tap on Settings from your home screen.
  2. After that, navigate to General > Software Update
  3. If there’s an available update, tap on Download and Install
Update iOS

While installing a software update, your iPhone might restart several times. During this process, you don’t have to do anything but wait.

Go back to WhatsApp afterward and check if the problem is solved.

5. Use PiP Correctly.

It’s also possible that you’re entering picture-in-picture mode on WhatsApp the wrong way.

Follow the steps below to use PiP on WhatsApp:

  1. Make or accept a video call on WhatsApp
  2. After connecting to the call, ensure that you are on the video call screen. You should see the person you are talking to on the screen.
  3. Now, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to go out of the app.

You should notice that your call won’t drop and you should see the person you are talking to in a small floating window.

6. Disable WhatsApp Lock.

You can lock WhatsApp to increase privacy. But, if you face issues using picture-in-picture mode, try turning off the lock for WhatsApp.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch WhatsApp on your device.
  2. Access Settings and go to Privacy
  3. Scroll down and tap on Screen Lock
  4. Disable the switch for Require Touch ID or Require Face ID

Restart the app and see if picture-in-picture works on your iPhone.

7. Reinstall WhatsApp.

See the steps below to delete WhatsApp:

  1. Go to your home screen and find WhatsApp
  2. Now, press and hold its icon until the options screen shows up.

Once done, go to the App Store and install the latest version of WhatsApp. Login to your account afterward and see if picture-in-picture is now working.

8. Reset Your Settings.

Try resetting your iPhone’s configurations if picture-in-picture is still not working. Some configurations on your device could be conflicting with the picture-in-picture mode.

Here’s how you can reset your configurations:

  1. On your device, head to the Settings app.
  2. Next, tap on General and look for Transfer or Reset iPhone.
  3. Access the tab and tap on Reset

If none of the solutions above worked, the last thing you can do is report the issue to WhatsApp’s team.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch WhatsApp on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Settings and tap on Help
  3. Choose the Contact Us option.

From here, you can ask about the problem with the picture-in-picture feature on the app.

On the other hand, you can also check their Help Center and see if you can find solutions not mentioned above.

2018 is here, and well as much as both you and I would have wagered upon that Blackberry would be the next big thing a couple of years back, it doesn’t seem all so true now.

WhatsApp has come out and said that they will stop supporting the app for Blackberry OS (including the Blackberry 10).

The worst part? The app can stop working at any time.

While it may be heartbreaking now, but, come on, we kinda knew where this was heading to and we sort of got the idea that sometime soon this was going to happen.

But before you throw your Blackberry across the room shouting that it’s useless, know that there is, as always, a workaround to this.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to download WhatsApp on Blackberry 10 in just a few minutes.

Head’s up!

You will be downloading a free software called Snap. Snap allows you to install Android apps onto your Blackberry 10 as though they have been downloaded from the Google Play Store. Snap is free, but the developer gives you the option to donate which helps its upkeep. 🙂

You’re also going to download free software called Sachesi. Sachesi allows you to get Snap (the software you downloaded earlier to get apps) into your Blackberry 10. Think of it like this: Snap is your app, Sachesi is your bridge to getting that app to gets apps into your phone.

Both of the software is safe and free. Just make sure you download it from this page.

This method has been tested on both Blackberry Passport and the Blackberry Classic and has got WhatsApp working smoothly on my part.

Note

If you feel unsure of doing this then don’t do it. But if you do it’s important that you backup first.

How to Download WhatsApp on Blackberry 10:  15 Steps

  1. Go ahead and plug in your Blackberry into your PC or your Mac.
  2. Now open up your Google Chrome (you can’t use any other browser).
  3. Next, what you need to do is hop into this page to download Snap. Just click on the Get Snap button.

Snap Google Client for Blackberry 10

Note

You will be brought to a checkout page, but just remember it is Free. (Snap will not ask you to pay, unless if you want to make a donation). Just enter your name and billing address here.

  1. Once you’ve added your name and your billing details, you’ll be brought to a page where you can download Snap. Just tap on Download Now.

Snap v3

  1. You’re doing a great job! Now once the download is complete, just drag it from your Downloads folder onto your home page of your Desktop.
  2. Next, it’s time to download Sachesi so that we can get Snap into our Blackberry. All you have to do is just hop into this page and download Sachesi.

download whatsapp on blackberry 10

Note

If you’re on Windows PC then download the latest release Sachesi file (its the topmost one on the page) which ends with Windows.7z

If you’re on Mac then download the latest release Sachesi file (its the topmost one on the page) which ends with OSX.zip

  1. Once the download has finished, click it and open Sachesi. Sachesi should look like this:

Sachesi
I am on a Mac. It should look the same if you’re using Windows too.

  1. You’re almost done! Now make sure that your Sachesi is open on the Install tab, then just simply drag and drop the Snap .bar file into the list.  You’ll see a progress circle as the file loads onto Sachesi which means it’s transferring Snap onto your phone. Leave it until it’s at 100%.

Sachesi 2.0.3

Note

Make sure to be careful and not do anything else with the Sachesi app. Don’t change anything, tweak settings or immediately exit the program. Let it reach 100%. Don’t panic, and relax (you’re almost there!). 🙂

  1. It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for: You’re going to install WhatsApp on your phone. So first go ahead and unplug your Blackberry from your PC or Mac and you will see that Snap is installed as an app on your home screen.
  2. Just tap on Snap (or Snap Free), agree to the permissions by tapping OK, and then sign into your Google account. (if you don’t have one, then you can create one here).
  3. Once you’re done with all that tap on Search in the bottom right-hand corner and search for WhatsApp.

Snap download

  1. Tap on Download.

Can’t figure out why your WhatsApp contacts are not showing on your Android or iOS device?

WhatsApp is a cross-platform messaging application that allows you to communicate with friends, colleagues, and family. One of its key features is end-to-end encryption, which ensures users that messages and calls can only be accessed by the sender and recipient.

Despite being one of the best messaging platforms, WhatsApp isn’t safe from downtimes and errors.

Recently, users have been complaining about their WhatsApp contacts not showing on their mobile devices.

Now, there are several reasons why this issue occurs. For one, it’s possible that the mobile app doesn’t have proper permissions to access your contacts. On the other hand, it can also be due to outdated software, corrupted data, or improper configurations.

In this guide, we will show you how to fix WhatsApp if your contacts are not showing.

Let’s get right into it!

1. Restart Your Device.

Before doing anything, we recommend restarting your mobile device if you encounter issues with WhatsApp or any other application. This way, we can ensure that the problem isn’t caused by a temporary bug or glitch that occurred during use.

For Android:

  1. Locate the Power button on your device.
  2. Next, press and hold the Power button until the options menu shows up.
  3. Finally, tap on Restart and wait for your device to reboot.
Restart Android

For iOS:

  1. Hold down the Volume Down button and Side button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt appears.
  2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Side button afterward to turn on your device.
Restart iOS

Once done, go back to WhatsApp to check if you can now view your contacts.

2. Ensure Your Friend’s Number Is in Your Address Book.

If you want to chat with your friends on WhatsApp, you’ll need to ensure that the phone number registered to their account is in your contacts or phonebook. You should also enter the country code extension of your friends’ number if they are abroad.

This is one of the most common reasons why users are having a hard time finding their friends on WhatsApp.

As it turns out, WhatsApp relies on the contacts on your device and see if the numbers match a registered account on their database. So, if your WhatsApp contacts are not showing up, make sure that you’ve saved their numbers correctly.

3. Verify If Your Friend Uses WhatsApp.

Similar to the one above, it’s crucial that your contact has installed WhatsApp on their device and their number is registered to the platform. Most of the time, they might say that they have WhatsApp on their device but they haven’t registered for an account yet.

Due to this, we recommend that you double-check with your friend and ensure that they have a registered account using the phone number in your contacts list.

If the issue persists even after confirming the second and third solutions, head to the next step to continue.

4. Update WhatsApp.

There’s a chance that the version of WhatsApp you’re using has a bug or glitch that causes your contacts not to show up. To rule this out, we suggest that you install the latest version of WhatsApp on your device.

For Android:

  1. Launch Google Play Store on your device.
  2. After that, tap on your Profile and access the Manage Apps & Device tab.
  3. From there, go to the Updates Available page and locate WhatsApp
  4. Hit the Update button beside the app to start the process.
Update Android

For iOS:

  1. Head to your home screen and tap on the App Store to launch it.
  2. Next, tap on your Profile icon to access it.
  3. Finally, scroll down and look for WhatsApp. Hit the Update button to start downloading the latest version of the app.
Update iOS

Once done, restart your device and check if you’ll still encounter issues with WhatsApp.

5. Check WhatsApp Servers.

Since WhatsApp is an online platform, it relies on its servers to deliver content and features. If you encounter issues with the app, there’s a chance that there’s a problem with WhatsApp’s servers.

To confirm this, you can use third-party sites like Downdetector to view the status of WhatsApp’s servers.

If there are ongoing issues with the servers, the best thing you can do is wait since server-related errors can’t be resolved on your end. On the other hand, you can head to the next solution if the servers are up and running.

6. Check Your Permissions.

WhatsApp needs access to your contacts to function properly. If the app is not allowed to access your contacts list, this explains why you can’t see your friends and contacts within the application.

In this case, you’ll need to check your device’s permissions and ensure that WhatsApp can access your contacts.

For iOS:

  1. Head to your home screen and tap on Settings to open it.
  2. After that, scroll down and tap on WhatsApp.
  3. Finally, tap the toggle switch beside the Contacts tab.

For Android:

  1. Access your phone’s Settings and go to the Apps tab (naming can vary from one device to another).
  2. Now, locate WhatsApp and tap on it.
  3. Go to the Permissions tab afterward and ensure that all permissions are turned on.
Allow Contacts WhatsApp

Once done, go back to WhatsApp and check if the problem is solved.

7. Clear WhatsApp Data (Android).

If you are using an Android device, you can try clearing WhatsApp’s data to solve this issue. This should clear temporary files and caches on your storage and ensure that there are no corrupted data on your device.

See the steps below to clear WhatsApp’s data:

  1. Go to your home screen and find WhatsApp from the list.
  2. After that, hold down its app icon until the options menu appears.
  3. Now, tap on App Info and access the Storage tab.
  4. Finally, tap on Clear Cache and Clear Data

Relaunch WhatsApp afterward, access your account, and check if the problem is solved.

8. Update Your Device.

You can also try updating your device if you still encounter issues with WhatsApp. There might be a conflict between the version of Android or iOS you’re running and the version of WhatsApp installed on your device.

For Android:

  1. Launch the Settings app on your device.
  2. Next, scroll down and look for Software Update
  3. Access the tab and tap on Download and Install

For iOS:

  1. Go to your home screen and tap on Settings
  2. Now, go to General and tap on Software Updates
  3. Finally, tap on Download and Install. You can also enable Automatic Updates to keep your device up to date in the future.
download software updates

Wait for your device to finish updating and restart it. Once done, go back to WhatsApp and check if the problem is solved.

9. Reinstall WhatsApp.

If none of the solutions above worked, the last thing you can do is reinstall WhatsApp on your device. This way, we can ensure that there are no problems with the installation package and you have the latest version of the app.

See the steps below to delete WhatsApp on your device:

  1. Head to your home screen or app drawer and locate WhatsApp
  2. Now, hold down its app icon until the selection menu appears.
  3. Lastly, tap on Remove App (iOS) or Uninstall (Android) to delete it.

Go to the App Store or Play Store on your device and download the latest version of WhatsApp.

10. Contact WhatsApp.

At this point, the last thing you can do is seek help from professionals if none of the solutions above work. Possibly, there’s an issue with your WhatsApp account that needs attention on their end.

Head to WhatsApp’s support page and get in touch with their team to report the issue you’ve been experiencing on the platform.

Trying to Fix Face ID Not Working in WhatsApp on iPhone?

The privacy and protection of WhatsApp data have been major concerns for many users. Fortunately, Apple released a feature that enables users to restrict the application’s access with their Face ID. That way, you can safeguard your chat details by requiring Face ID before the app can open.

This feature allows users to protect their privacy by helping them keep their information safe from unwanted access, as it only allows the user with the particular Face ID to access the app. Although, there are times when this feature may stop working due to various reasons, such as pending software updates, internal bugs, and so on.

Thankfully, this problem can be easily fixed through some troubleshooting methods. To help you out, we have gathered some of the most effective solutions to fix Face ID not working in WhatsApp on iPhone.

So, let’s get started!

1. Ensure Face ID is Enabled on WhatsApp.

The Face ID feature has to be enabled for each app from its settings. Sometimes, users may accidentally or intentionally disable the feature, which may result in Face ID not working.

So, the first thing that you should do when the Face ID stops working in Whatsapp is to check whether you have it enabled in the first place. Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, launch the WhatsApp app on your device.
  2. From the bottom right corner, tap on the gear icon to go to Settings.
  3. Select Privacy.

  1. Now, scroll down and locate Screen Lock, and tap on it.
  2. Turn on the toggle next to Require Face ID to enable this feature.

  1. Lastly, relaunch the app to see if the problem has been fixed.

Alternatively, you may also head to Settings and check whether Face ID is enabled for Whatsapp or not. Follow the steps below to do it:

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Next, scroll down and select WhatsApp.
  3. Switch on the toggle for Face ID.

  1. Afterward, follow the on-screen commands to enable Face ID for Whatsapp.
  2. Close the app and open WhatsApp to see if the Face ID has started working. If not, consider checking the Face ID settings by following the next method from this guide.

2. Check Face ID Access from Settings.

If Face ID is enabled for Whatsapp, the next troubleshooting method is to check whether the Face ID feature has permission from Whatsapp. Once you allow Whatsapp to provide the required permissions, you’ll be able to use Face ID on the iPhone without any problem.

Here’s what you must do:

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Scroll down until you find Face ID & Passcode. Tap on it.
  3. Then, provide your passcode.
  4. Next, go to Other Apps.
Face ID and Passcode setting on iPhone
  1. From all the apps allowing Face ID, check for WhatsApp. Make sure the toggle is switched on.
  1. Close Settings and open WhatsApp to check if the issue has been fixed.

4. Restart iPhone.

The Face ID not working in Whatsapp on iPhone may be due to a temporary bug or glitch within the system. For this reason, an easy yet effective solution is to reboot your device. This will give your iPhone a fresh start and hopefully fix the issue you’re facing.

For the latest iPhone models:

  1. Press and hold down either the Volume Up or Volume Down buttons and the Side button until you see the slider appear on your iPhone’s screen.

  1. Drag the slider across the screen.
  2. To restart your device, press and hold down the Side button until the Apple logo appears.

For the older iPhone models:

  1. Press and hold down the Side button until you see the slider appear on the screen.
  2. Slide the slider across the screen.

  1. Then, press and hold the Side button to restart your device.

5. Clear the TrueDepth Camera.

The Face ID feature only works on your iPhone when the TrueDepth camera detects your face from the front-facing camera. If the notch where it’s present is dirty, or something is covering the area, such as a screen protector, etc., the Face ID may not work properly.

Therefore, it’s recommended that you clean the TrueDepth Camera, preferably with a microfiber cloth. Then, check whether the Face ID works in Whatsapp or not.

6. Update Whatsapp.

App developers occasionally release new updates to improve user experience and eliminate bugs and issues that users might be facing. So, if you can’t get the Face ID to work in Whatsapp, we suggest you check for any pending app update and install it on your iPhone.

Simply follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the App Store on your device.
  2. Go to the Profile icon present on the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Refresh the available updates by swiping down.
  4. If there is any pending update for WhatsApp, tap on Update to download and install it.

7. Update iOS to the Latest Version.

Similar to app updates, Apple users also receive software updates once in a while. If the problem you’re facing is widespread, the developers may have taken it to notice and have released a fix for it.

So, check for any pending updates by following the steps mentioned below:

  1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Then, select General.
  3. From there, tap on Software Update.

  1. If there is any update available, tap on Download & Install to update your iPhone to the latest iOS version.

8.  Reset Face ID and Set It Up Again.

After trying all the solutions mentioned above, if you still can’t get the Face ID to work in Whatsapp, your last option is to reset the Face ID feature. Afterward, set it up again, and the Face ID not working in Whatsapp on iPhone should be resolved.

To reset the Face ID, perform the following steps:

  1. Open Settings on your device.
  2. Then, go to Face ID & Passcode.
  3. Tap on Reset Face ID.

To set up Face ID, follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Select the Face ID & Passcode option.

Is your front camera not working on WhatsApp for iPhone?

WhatsApp is currently one of the leading messaging platforms for mobile. It has a dedicated iOS app that allows users to make and answer calls with ease. Users can also generate video call links within the app and invite their friends and loved ones for a group call.

However, none of these features matter if your front-facing camera isn’t working on the app.

Unfortunately, this is the case for many iPhone users. As it turns out, their front camera is not working on WhatsApp, preventing them from joining video calls.

Most of the time, this problem on the app is caused by a conflict with your iPhone’s permissions. On the other hand, it can also be due to outdated software, server downtimes, unstable connections, and corrupted app data.

To help out, we’ve decided to make a guide on how to fix your front camera if it’s not working on WhatsApp for iPhone.

Let’s get right into it!

1. Check WhatsApp Servers.

As mentioned, this problem on WhatsApp can be due to server-related issues. Since WhatsApp is an online service, its servers play a major role in providing users with content, features, and services.

If your front camera is not working on the app, try checking WhatsApp’s servers. You can use third-party sites like Downdetector to view the platform’s status.

Whatsapp Status

Sadly, server-related issues can only be resolved on WhatsApp’s end. If there are reported problems with the servers, the best thing you can do is wait for their team to resolve the issue.

On the other hand, you can head to the next solution if there’s nothing wrong with the servers.

2. Restart Your Device.

Before changing your configurations, we recommend performing a system restart on your device first. This way, you can ensure that the problem isn’t caused by a temporary bug or glitch.

Follow the steps below to restart your iPhone:

  1. Access the Assistive Touch on your iOS device.
  2. Next, go to More
  3. Finally, choose Restart and wait.

Once your device has restarted, go back to WhatsApp to check if the problem is solved.

3. Check Camera Permissions.

One of the most common reasons for your front camera not to work on WhatsApp for iPhone is lack of permissions. It’s possible that the application is not given the correct permissions to access your front camera.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. First, open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Now, go to Privacy & Security
front camera not working on WhatsApp
  1. Lastly, access the Camera tab and ensure that WhatsApp is allowed to access your hardware.

Relaunch the app afterward and see if your front camera works.

4. Check Your Network Connection.

Slow or unstable internet connection could also be the reason you can’t join video calls on WhatsApp. Unlike regular calls, video calls require more bandwidth. The feature may not work properly if your device doesn’t have access to a decent connection.

To confirm this, perform a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its current bandwidth.

Speed Test

If the test indicates a problem with your connection, power cycle your modem or router to re-establish the link with your ISP. Disconnect your router from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before plugging it back in.

Restart Router

Once done, re-run the test on your network to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your provider and ask them to fix the issue with your connection.

5. Switch to Wi-Fi.

If you are using cellular data, we recommend switching to Wi-Fi if possible. Although mobile data has come a long way and could provide excellent speeds, Wi-Fi connections are far more reliable if you have decent reception.

If you encounter issues with your front-facing camera on WhatsApp, switch to Wi-Fi and see if the problem persists.

6. Remove Face ID for WhatsApp.

Do you encounter issues with your front camera after unlocking WhatsApp to answer a call? This is probably due to a bug on iOS that prevents your camera from activating if it’s recently used for Face ID.

Besides waiting for Apple to fix the issue, you can try disabling Face ID for WhatsApp in the meantime.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. On your device, go to the Settings app and scroll down until you find WhatsApp
  2. Tap on it and look for Face ID
  3. Finally, disable the feature and restart the app.

Try making another call to see if your front camera works.

7. Update WhatsApp.

The version of WhatsApp you’re using might have an underlying issue that is related to the front-facing camera. To rule this out, we suggest updating the app on your device to patch any errors.

See the steps below to update WhatsApp:

  1. Access your home screen and launch the App Store
  2. Now, tap on your Profile in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Look for WhatsApp from the list and hit the Update button.
Update WhatsApp

Relaunch the app after the update and check if your camera works.

8. Reinstall WhatsApp.

If the update did not work, you could also try reinstalling the app on your iPhone. This way, we can ensure that the application is installed correctly and there are no missing or broken resources.

Here’s how you can remove WhatsApp:

  1. On your device, access the app drawer, and look for WhatsApp
  2. Hold down on its app icon until the selection menu shows up.
  3. Finally, tap on Remove App to uninstall WhatsApp
front camera not working on WhatsApp

Once done, go to the App Store to reinstall the app on your device. Try making another call to check if the problem is solved.

9. Contact WhatsApp.

At this point, the last thing you can do is let the professionals handle the situation. Head to WhatsApp’s Contact Us page to submit a ticket regarding the issue you’ve been experiencing on your iPhone.

On your report, make sure to provide your account details, the exact model of your iPhone, and other necessary information that can help their team address the issue faster.

You can also visit their FAQs page and see if you can find any solutions.

That sums up our guide on how to fix your front camera if it’s not working on WhatsApp for iPhone. If you have questions or clarifications, please let us know in the comment section, and we’ll do our best to answer them.

If this guide helped you, please share it. 🙂

Want to find out how to fix WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone?

WhatsApp is an instant messaging app that millions of people use every day to connect with others. So whether you want to send videos or messages, call, or make a group chat, WhatsApp has you covered.

Despite having iMessage on the iPhone, many Apple users still prefer WhatsApp because it is globally compatible. However, ever since the latest iOS update, many users have reported a WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone. The app fails to load, causing a hindrance in communicating with other people.

To find out how to troubleshoot this problem, keep reading this article. We’ve provided multiple fixes that you can use to solve the WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone.

So, without waiting any longer, let’s get started!

1. Ensure You Have A Stable Internet Connection.

One of the most common reasons you may encounter reconnecting issues on WhatsApp is a poor internet connection. A weak network connection tends to cause the app to take longer to load and could also cause your recent notifications to not appear.

If you’re using Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data or vice versa to resolve this issue. Here’s how to do it:

  1. To start, open the Settings app from your device.
  2. Next, tap on Wi-Fi.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. Then, turn the toggle off for Wi-Fi.
Disable Wi-Fi on iPhone
  1. Now, go back to settings and select Cellular.
  2. Lastly, toggle on Cellular Data.
Enable Cellular Data on iPhone

Once done, you may want to head to WhatsApp and check if you’re still seeing Connecting on top. If the problem still persists, try to follow the next method.

2. Turn the Toggle Off for Low Data Mode.

When you’re at a place with low Wi-Fi signals, Apple automatically turns on the Low Data Mode to lower your device’s data usage. This feature hinders WhatsApp from actively syncing your recent messages, so we suggest you disable it.

To turn off Low Data Mode, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Settings app.
  2. Select Wi-Fi.
  3. Then, tap on the Info icon next to the Wi-Fi icon of the network you’re connected to.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. Now, switch off the toggle for Low Data Mode
Disable Low Data Mode on iPhone

3. Restart Your Device.

Sometimes, a temporary glitch in the system may cause a WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone to occur. If that’s the case, try turning your phone off and turn it back on to refresh the memory.

Follow these steps to do it:

  1. First, press and hold the Side button till the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider all the way to the right to power off your device.
slide to power off iPhone
  1. Now, wait for 30 seconds to a minute.
  2. Finally, press and hold the Side button again and release it once you see the Apple logo
Restart iPhone

4. Update WhatsApp to the Latest Version.

Similar to other apps, WhatsApp also releases new updates once in a while to remove any bugs and enhance user experience. So, if there is an update pending, that may be the reason why you’re facing the reconnecting issue on your iPhone.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Begin by going to the App Store on your device.
  2. Next, tap on your Profile icon from the top-right corner of the screen.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. Scroll down and tap Update next to WhatsApp under the Upcoming Automatic Updates section.
Update WhatsApp

Once your app is updated to the latest version, open it and check if your messages load or not. If not, head to the following method to resolve your problem.

5. Turn the Toggle On For Background App Refresh.

By letting your app run in the background, you’re allowing it to refresh actively and push notifications even when not in use. Apple users can use the Background App Refresh option to allow WhatsApp to run in the background. This way, the WhatsApp reconnecting issue on your iPhone might be taken care of.

Follow the steps given below to enable this option on your device:

  1. Start by opening the Settings app.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and select WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. After that, turn the toggle on for Background App Refresh.
enable Background App Refresh

6. Don’t Close WhatsApp from Background Apps.

By closing background apps, you are restarting the app, which causes your battery to drain faster and the app to have syncing problems. This may be the case if WhatsApp is having a reconnecting issue on your iPhone.  So, next time you close recent apps from the App Launcher, leave WhatsApp be so it can continue running in the background.

7. Turn Off Low Power Mode.

If you have the Low Power Mode turned on, that may also be why your WhatsApp is failing to connect. This is because the Low Power Mode limits apps that are running in the background. Although this feature drastically improves your device’s battery, it will affect your apps’ responsiveness and make them take longer time to load.

Here’s how to disable the Low Power Mode:

  1. To begin, open the Settings app on your iOS device.
  2. After that, scroll down and select Battery.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. Then, turn the toggle off for the Low Power Mode option.
disable Low Power Mode

8. Update to the Latest iOS Version.

Similar to how apps get updated once in a while to remove any bugs and glitches present in the previous version, an iOS update does the same with your iPhone. So, if your WhatsApp is having a reconnecting issue, one possibility may be a pending iOS update.

To check for a software update, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings app and select General
  2. Afterward, tap on Software Update.
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. If there’s any available update, tap Download and Install

Once your iPhone is updated, head to WhatsApp to check if your issue is solved.

9. Reboot Your Wi-Fi Router.

As stated earlier, the primary reason for WhatsApp reconnecting issue is an unstable network connection. So, if your WhatsApp is Not Working on the Connected Wi-Fi, try restarting your wireless router to make sure you have a steady network connection which is required for WhatsApp to work properly.

To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Start by switching off and unplugging your Wi-Fi router from the power source.
  2. Now, wait for at least 30 seconds.
  3. After that, plug in the power cord to the power outlet.
  4. Next, press the Power button to turn on the router.
  5. Finally, wait for a minute or two before connecting your iPhone to the network.

10. Reset iPhone Network Settings.

If none of the methods mentioned above worked for you, your last resort is to reset the network settings. This will surely fix the WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone. Keep in mind that once your network settings reset, you will have to reconnect to all the network connections on your device.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. From Settings on your iPhone, go to General
WhatsApp Reconnecting Issue on iPhone
  1. Next, scroll down and tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.
Transfer or Reset iPhone
  1. Now, tap Reset from the bottom.

  1. Then, select Reset Network Settings.
Reset Network Settings on iPhone

This brings us to the end of the guide on how to resolve a WhatsApp reconnecting issue on iPhone. If you have further questions, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below. We will try our best to help you out.

Can’t figure out why WhatsApp is not working on Wi-Fi?

WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging platform. It’s used by many people for business transactions and regular conversations. It started as a chat app, but it upgraded to a complete package with the inclusion of voice and video functionalities.

In order to work, WhatsApp requires an internet connection. This can be through your home network or your device’s cellular data.

While we often rely on mobile data when on the go, it’s more convenient to use Wi-Fi inside our homes. Unfortunately, there have been reports from several WhatsApp users who are having a hard time using the app on a wireless connection.

Based on what we know, this problem on WhatsApp is usually caused by an issue with your network or service provider. However, it can also be due to outdated software, corrupted files, or improper device configurations.

To help you out, we’ve decided to make a guide for fixing WhatsApp if it’s not working on your Wi-Fi.

Let’s begin!

1. Check WhatsApp Servers.

Before changing your system configurations, it’s vital for you to identify where the problem is coming from. This should help you decide how you’ll plan your next actions to resolve the issue on your device.

To check WhatsApp’s status, you can use third-party tools like Downdetector

Whatsapp Status

If there’s an ongoing issue on the app, there’s nothing much you can do since server-related problems can’t be addressed on your end.

On the other hand, you can proceed to the following solutions below if WhatsApp’s servers are up and running.

2. Restart Your Device.

A temporary bug or glitch may have occurred on your device, causing connectivity issues on WhatsApp. To rule this out, restart your device to reload its resources and eliminate possible errors.

On Android devices, here’s what you need to do:

  1. First, locate the Power button on your device.
  2. After that, press and hold its icon until the selection menu appears.
  3. Lastly, choose Restart to reboot your system.

For iOS users, follow these steps to restart your device:

  1. On your home screen, access the Assistive Touch and go to Device
  2. Now, tap on More
  3. Finally, select Restart
WhatsApp not working on Wi-Fi

Once done, reconnect to your Wi-Fi and see if WhatsApp works.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow or unstable network connection could also be why WhatsApp is not working when you connect to your Wi-Fi. To confirm this, run a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its upload and download speed.

Speed Test

If the test result indicates that your network is the problem, restart your modem or router to re-establish the connection with your ISP. Unplug your router from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.

Restart Router

Once done, perform another test to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your service provider and ask them to fix their service.

4. Reset Your Network Settings.

Your device’s network configurations might not be set correctly, which causes connectivity issues to WhatsApp. To fix this, reset your network settings to ensure that everything is in order.

For Android users, see the steps below to reset your network settings:

  1. First, open the Settings app on your device.
  2. After that, go to System
  3. Now, tap on Advanced and access the Reset Options tab.

Go back to WhatsApp afterward to check if the problem is solved.

5. Turn Off VPN.

VPNs are third-party apps that protect your network and data from hackers and other harmful entities. They mask your default IP address to hide your location and filter your data to secure sensitive data like bank accounts, passwords, and card numbers.

Unfortunately, VPNs can also introduce delays to your network, especially if you are not connected to a high-speed server.

If WhatsApp is not working on Wi-Fi, try disabling your VPN first.

On the other hand, you can try switching to a much more reputable provider like PureVPN if you’re not comfortable going online without protection. Unlike other services, it works well with most apps and keeps your connection fast and secure.

6. Update WhatsApp.

If you still can’t use WhatsApp when connected to a wireless network, we recommend updating the app. The version you’re using might have an issue related to Wi-Fi connection, causing it to run into errors when connected to a wireless network.

On Android devices, see the guide below to update WhatsApp:

  1. First, open Google Play Store on your device.
  2. After that, go to your Profile and tap on Manage Apps & Device
  3. Now, access the Updates Available tab and look for WhatsApp
  4. Lastly, hit the Update button if there’s a newer version available.

  3. Finally, look for WhatsApp and hit the Update button.

After the update, go back to WhatsApp and check if the problem is solved.

7. Reinstall WhatsApp.

For your last option, you can try reinstalling WhatsApp if it’s still not working on Wi-Fi connections. This should ensure that there are no broken or missing installation files on your system.

Follow these steps to delete WhatsApp on your device:

  1. Go to your app drawer and locate WhatsApp
  2. Now, press and hold its icon until the selection menu shows up.
  3. Lastly, tap on Remove App (iOS) or Uninstall (Android) to delete the app.

Can’t figure out why your WhatsApp images are not showing up on the gallery?

WhatsApp is a great instant messaging app to keep in touch with your family and friends. It supports voice and video calls, text messaging, and file sharing. If you use it mainly for casual conversations, you would want to save images or videos at some point.

Although WhatsApp images are downloadable to your phone, some users encounter issues when saving media files from their conversations.

If you are here, we can assume that you cannot see WhatsApp images on your gallery.

This can be a problem if you need to share an image from WhatsApp to another platform or simply want to save it on your device’s storage for easy access.

Based on what we know, this issue is caused by improper configurations. However, it can also be due to corrupted data and outdated software.

Today, we’ll show you how to fix WhatsApp images not showing up on your gallery.

Let’s get started!

1. Enable Media Visibility.

WhatsApp has a security feature that allows you to control whether images on your account show up on your gallery or not. If you have this option disabled, it explains why you can’t view images outside of WhatsApp.

To fix this, see the steps below to change your settings:

  1. First, open WhatsApp on your mobile device.
  2. After that, go to the Settings
  3. Lastly, tap on Chats and enable Media Visibility

Once done, go to your gallery and check if you can view images from WhatsApp.

2. Check Your Individual Settings.

You can also control the media visibility of images for individual conversations. If you can’t see images from a specific contact, you may have disabled visibility for that person and forget about it.

Here’s how you can change media visibility for individual conversations:

  1. On WhatsApp, choose a conversation you want to view images in your gallery.
  2. Now, tap on your contact’s name inside the conversation and go to Media Visibility.
  3. Finally, choose Yes

Head to your gallery afterward and see if you can view images from your conversation.

3. Delete “.nomedia” File (Android).

Another way to view images from WhatsApp on your gallery is by deleting the “.nomedia” file inside WhatsApp’s folder.

Check out the steps below to guide you on the process:

  1. First, open File Manager or File Explorer on your device.
  2. After that, go to the Settings and enable the Show Hidden Files option.
  3. Now, navigate to Android > Media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Images
  4. Lastly, open the Private folder and delete the “.nomedia” file inside.

Once done, restart your gallery, and your WhatsApp images should show up.

4. Enable Auto Download.

If you don’t want to manually save incoming images from your WhatsApp account, enable the autosave feature on the app. This should automatically save all the images you’ll receive from the platform.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Launch WhatsApp on your device and go to the Settings
  2. Next, go to Storage and Data
  3. After that, tap on When Connected on Wi-Fi under the Media Auto-Download tab and choose the file types you want to be automatically downloaded.
  4. Finally, tap on When Using Mobile Data and do the same.

Restart the app after changing your settings and ask your friends to send you an image to see if it will automatically save.

5. Contact WhatsApp.

If none of the solutions above worked for you, we recommend that you let the professionals handle the situation.

Go to WhatsApp Help Center and get in touch with their team to report the issue you’ve been experiencing on the app. While waiting, you can browse the other guides on their page and see if you can find other solutions.
