2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds. 
3. Press the Side button afterward to turn on your device. 

For older models, follow the steps below: 

1. Locate the Power button on your device. 
2. Now, hold the button until the ‘Slide to Power Off’ prompt shows up.
3. Drag the slider to the right and wait 30 seconds before turning on your device. 

Once done, go back to WhatsApp to check if the problem is solved.

3. Close Unnecessary Applications. 

There might be conflicting applications on your iPhone that causes WhatsApp to crash randomly.

2. Wait for 5 to 10 seconds. 
3. Reconnect the power cable and wait for your router to initialize.

Re-run the test on your network to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your provider to report the issue. 

For mobile data users, check if your phone has enough signal. A 5G or 4G icon should appear beside the signal indicator to be able to use online apps without issues.

You can lock WhatsApp to increase privacy. But, if you face issues using picture-in-picture mode, try turning off the lock for WhatsApp.

WhatsApp has come out and said that they will stop supporting the app for Blackberry OS (including the Blackberry 10).

The worst part? The app can stop working at any time.

While it may be heartbreaking now, but, come on, we kinda knew where this was heading to and we sort of got the idea that sometime soon this was going to happen. 

But before you throw your Blackberry across the room shouting that it’s useless, know that there is, as always, a workaround to this.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to download WhatsApp on Blackberry 10 in just a few minutes.

Head’s up!

You will be downloading a free software called Snap. Snap allows you to install Android apps onto your Blackberry 10 as though they have been downloaded from the Google Play Store. Snap is free, but the developer gives you the option to donate which helps its upkeep. 🙂

You’re also going to download free software called Sachesi. Sachesi allows you to get Snap (the software you downloaded earlier to get apps) into your Blackberry 10. Think of it like this: Snap is your app, Sachesi is your bridge to getting that app to gets apps into your phone.

Both of the software is safe and free. Just make sure you download it from this page.

This method has been tested on both Blackberry Passport and the Blackberry Classic and has got WhatsApp working smoothly on my part.

Note

If you feel unsure of doing this then don’t do it. But if you do it’s important that you backup first.

How to Download WhatsApp on Blackberry 10:  15 Steps 

1. Go ahead and plug in your Blackberry into your PC or your Mac.
2. Now open up your Google Chrome (you can’t use any other browser).
3. Next, what you need to do is hop into this page to download Snap. Just click on the Get Snap button. 

Note

You will be brought to a checkout page, but just remember it is Free. (Snap will not ask you to pay, unless if you want to make a donation). Just enter your name and billing address here. 

4. Once you’ve added your name and your billing details, you’ll be brought to a page where you can download Snap. Just tap on Download Now.

5. You’re doing a great job! Now once the download is complete, just drag it from your Downloads folder onto your home page of your Desktop.
6. Next, it’s time to download Sachesi so that we can get Snap into our Blackberry. All you have to do is just hop into this page and download Sachesi.

Note 

If you’re on Windows PC then download the latest release Sachesi file (its the topmost one on the page) which ends with Windows.7z

If you’re on Mac then download the latest release Sachesi file (its the topmost one on the page) which ends with OSX.zip

7. Once the download has finished, click it and open Sachesi. Sachesi should look like this:

8. You’re almost done! Now make sure that your Sachesi is open on the Install tab, then just simply drag and drop the Snap .bar file into the list.  You’ll see a progress circle as the file loads onto Sachesi which means it’s transferring Snap onto your phone. Leave it until it’s at 100%.

Note

Make sure to be careful and not do anything else with the Sachesi app. Don’t change anything, tweak settings or immediately exit the program. Let it reach 100%. Don’t panic, and relax (you’re almost there!). 🙂

9. It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for: You’re going to install WhatsApp on your phone. So first go ahead and unplug your Blackberry from your PC or Mac and you will see that Snap is installed as an app on your home screen. 
10. Just tap on Snap (or Snap Free), agree to the permissions by tapping OK, and then sign into your Google account. (if you don’t have one, then you can create one here).
11. Once you’re done with all that tap on Search in the bottom right-hand corner and search for WhatsApp.

12. Tap on Download. 

13. Tap on Open Installer.

14. You’ll be shown on the page below. Just tap on Install on the top right-hand corner.

15. From there, you’ll be asked you need to Allow App Installation in your phone’s settings so just tap on a Settings and then turn on Allow Apps from Other Sources to be Installed by switching on the slider next to it.

16. Finally! Just tap back in your bottom left-hand corner to go back, and then tap Install again. Your WhatsApp will download.

In this guide, we will show you how to fix WhatsApp if your contacts are not showing. 

Let’s get right into it!

1. Restart Your Device. 

Before doing anything, we recommend restarting your mobile device if you encounter issues with WhatsApp or any other application. This way, we can ensure that the problem isn’t caused by a temporary bug or glitch that occurred during use. 

For Android: 

1. Locate the Power button on your device. 
2. Next, press and hold the Power button until the options menu shows up. 
3. Finally, tap on Restart and wait for your device to reboot. 

For iOS:

2. Now, drag the slider to the right and wait for 30 seconds.

2. Ensure Your Friend’s Number Is in Your Address Book. 

If you want to chat with your friends on WhatsApp, you’ll need to ensure that the phone number registered to their account is in your contacts or phonebook. You should also enter the country code extension of your friends’ number if they are abroad. 

This is one of the most common reasons why users are having a hard time finding their friends on WhatsApp. 

As it turns out, WhatsApp relies on the contacts on your device and see if the numbers match a registered account on their database. So, if your WhatsApp contacts are not showing up, make sure that you’ve saved their numbers correctly. 

3. Verify If Your Friend Uses WhatsApp. 

Similar to the one above, it’s crucial that your contact has installed WhatsApp on their device and their number is registered to the platform. Most of the time, they might say that they have WhatsApp on their device but they haven’t registered for an account yet. 

Due to this, we recommend that you double-check with your friend and ensure that they have a registered account using the phone number in your contacts list. 

If the issue persists even after confirming the second and third solutions, head to the next step to continue. 

4. Update WhatsApp. 

There’s a chance that the version of WhatsApp you’re using has a bug or glitch that causes your contacts not to show up. To rule this out, we suggest that you install the latest version of WhatsApp on your device. 

For Android: 

1. Launch Google Play Store on your device. 
2. After that, tap on your Profile and access the Manage Apps & Device tab. 
3. From there, go to the Updates Available page and locate WhatsApp. 
4. Hit the Update button beside the app to start the process. 

For iOS:

1. Head to your home screen and tap on the App Store to launch it. 
2. Next, tap on your Profile icon to access it. 
3. Finally, scroll down and look for WhatsApp. Hit the Update button to start downloading the latest version of the app. 

Once done, restart your device and check if you’ll still encounter issues with WhatsApp. 

5. Check WhatsApp Servers. 

Since WhatsApp is an online platform, it relies on its servers to deliver content and features. If you encounter issues with the app, there’s a chance that there’s a problem with WhatsApp’s servers. 

To confirm this, you can use third-party sites like Downdetector to view the status of WhatsApp’s servers. 

If there are ongoing issues with the servers, the best thing you can do is wait since server-related errors can’t be resolved on your end. On the other hand, you can head to the next solution if the servers are up and running. 

6. Check Your Permissions. 

WhatsApp needs access to your contacts to function properly. If the app is not allowed to access your contacts list, this explains why you can’t see your friends and contacts within the application. 

In this case, you’ll need to check your device’s permissions and ensure that WhatsApp can access your contacts. 

For iOS: 

1. Head to your home screen and tap on Settings to open it. 
2. After that, scroll down and tap on WhatsApp.
3. Finally, tap the toggle switch beside the Contacts tab.

For Android: 

1. Access your phone’s Settings and go to the Apps tab (naming can vary from one device to another). 
2. Now, locate WhatsApp and tap on it. 
3. Go to the Permissions tab afterward and ensure that all permissions are turned on. 

Once done, go back to WhatsApp and check if the problem is solved. 

7. Clear WhatsApp Data (Android). 

If you are using an Android device, you can try clearing WhatsApp’s data to solve this issue. This should clear temporary files and caches on your storage and ensure that there are no corrupted data on your device. 

See the steps below to clear WhatsApp’s data: 

1. Go to your home screen and find WhatsApp from the list. 
2. After that, hold down its app icon until the options menu appears. 
3. Now, tap on App Info and access the Storage tab. 
4. Finally, tap on Clear Cache and Clear Data. 

Relaunch WhatsApp afterward, access your account, and check if the problem is solved. 

8. Update Your Device. 

You can also try updating your device if you still encounter issues with WhatsApp. There might be a conflict between the version of Android or iOS you’re running and the version of WhatsApp installed on your device. 

For Android: 

1. Launch the Settings app on your device. 
2. Next, scroll down and look for Software Update. 
3. Access the tab and tap on Download and Install. 

For iOS: 

1. Go to your home screen and tap on Settings. 
2. Now, go to General and tap on Software Updates. 
3. Finally, tap on Download and Install. You can also enable Automatic Updates to keep your device up to date in the future. 

Wait for your device to finish updating and restart it. Once done, go back to WhatsApp and check if the problem is solved. 

9. Reinstall WhatsApp.

If you don’t want to manually save incoming images from your WhatsApp account, enable the autosave feature on the app. This should automatically save all the images you’ll receive from the platform. 

Here’s what you need to do: 

1. Launch WhatsApp on your device and go to the Settings. 
2. Next, go to Storage and Data. 
3. After that, tap on When Connected on Wi-Fi under the Media Auto-Download tab and choose the file types you want to be automatically downloaded. 
4. Finally, tap on When Using Mobile Data and do the same. 

Restart the app after changing your settings and ask your friends to send you an image to see if it will automatically save. 

5. Contact WhatsApp.
